Flying higher with AirAsia-Citibank

Citibank and AirAsia have introduced two new cards - the AirAsia-Citibank Platinum Visa and AirAsia-Citibank Gold Visa Credit Cards - to offer Malaysians new benefits that include AirAsia X Premium FlatBed upgrades, free in-flight meals and free Pick a Seat.

Targeted at the emerging affluent and affluent segments in Malaysia, Citibank hopes to add 100,000 new AirAsia-Citibank card members over the next 2-3 years.

"The AirAsia-Citibank Platinum Visa Credit Card and AirAsia-Citibank Gold Visa Credit Card are tailored to the needs of our card members; complimented with exciting rewards, exclusive privileges and cost savings," said Sanjeev Nanavati, CEO of Citibank.

With the cards, members can consolidate their expenses, earn AirAsia points and enjoy privileges and dining deals 4,000 dining outlets across the globe.

Citibank is the market leader in the credit card industry with a 20% share of credit card usage.

In 2011, more than 30 million airline passengers flew AirAsia with 48% of them travelling for both business and pleasure.

The AirAsia and Citibank co-brand partnership was established in 2007 with a long-term view to bring value and enrich the lifestyles of Malaysian consumers.
