FC Barcelona has entered into a sponsorship deal with South Korean automobile and industrial batteries manufacturer Sebang Group covering Malaysia, Vietnam and South Korea. As part of the agreement, the South Korean company will be able to use the FC Barcelona crest and images of its players in the three countries.

Within the partnership, rights include the use of images and video associated with the club on Sebang products or for advertising purposes, alongside rights to virtual LED minutes and other promotional, merchandising and hospitality rights. Furthermore, the Sebang logo will be featured in the partners section of the FC Barcelona website and further rights to create co-branded content and a microsite with the club. A+M has reached out to Sebang Group for additional information.

Toni Claveria (pictured left), head of APAC for FC Barcelona said both brands have shared values whereby they strive for excellence through effort, respect and humility.

"Sebang is the club’s first partner in the car battery industry and the club is proud to begin the relationship. Together, we can grow both the Sebang and FC Barcelona brands in Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia," he said.

Taekjun Chung, marketing manager of Sebang Global Battery, Sebang Malaysia was established as part of a joint venture in 2016 to increase sales in the Southeast Asian market. He added that the sponsorship agreement allows the team to "carry out local marketing activities in full scale".

"We will increase awareness of our battery products and boost sales volume in the Southeast Asia region by combining the recognition and likeability of the world's best football club with the Rocket brand," Chung said.
