Facebook names new managing director of SEA

Facebook is appointing Kenneth Bishop as managing director of Southeast Asia.According to a statement from Facebook, in his new role, Bishop will be responsible for helping advertisers get better value out of its platform. He has been with Facebook for over four years. Bishop was most recently head of marketing, APAC, and led initiatives related to consumer, growth, and business marketing.Prior to that, he was head of client solutions, APAC. In his role, he helped support advertisers and agencies across the region, and played a role in contributing to Facebook's overall growth and expansion in the region. He is based in Singapore and has worked in the APAC region for more than seven years.Dan Neary, vice president, Asia Pacific for Facebook said: Bishop’s experience in the region and vision for Southeast Asia will help us strengthen our partnership and support for local businesses in this dynamic mobile-first region. People love connecting to businesses on Facebook and this presents a huge opportunity for small businesses, app developers, e-commerce companies, and large brands, especially here in Southeast Asia."He added that Facebook’s new innovations around video, commerce, and messaging that have been tailored to serve the needs of local businesses in these fast-growing emerging markets."Facebook is where people in Southeast Asia primarily connect to businesses on their mobile phones, and with Bishop’s leadership we’re committed to working with our partners to drive this growth,” Neary added.
