Electrolux Holds First Washing-Thon

Electrolux Home Appliances will hold Malaysia's first Electrolux outdoor washing marathon, the ‘Electrolux Washing-thon', this November.The corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative will be a public affair and calls for active volunteerism to help the less privileged community by washing and drying donated clothes from the public.Working together with Citta Mall, Unilever, Harvey Norman and DB Schenker, the first outdoor Electrolux Washing-thon aims to collect, wash, dry and fold at least 3,000 pieces of clothes that will be distributed through Grace Community Services to kids and adults in need.Two weeks prior to the main event, which will be held from 1 until 4 November at Citta Mall, a collection drive for used clothes will be held via the Electrolux Washing-thon trucks from 17 to 30 October at designated drop-off points in Klang Valley.Electrolux will be using its Facebook page to inform the public on the drop-off points and trucks collection locations.Koh Soh Hoie, general manager of Electrolux Malaysia and Singapore, said, "We believe that a thousand small gestures can create spectacular results and we are encouraging and inviting everyone's participation in any way to support this thoughtful initiative."
