Taura Edgar, former digital lead at Waggener Edstrom’s Studio D Hong Kong, has launched her own start-up venture, Digital Devotee.
Edgar, who spent 10 years with various agencies including Eight Partnership, Waggener Edstrom and MRM Worldwide, said Digital Devotee will focus on the digital field, with a particular view on social media, content management, CRM and email marketing.
Edgar told Marketing that her experience with bigger agency structures was not over, but a number of projects from small to medium-sized business owners had spurred the move.
She said the business would seek to collaborate with other like-minded ventures including Smart Drop, a Hong Kong-based company focusing on content management systems, CRM and e-commerce tools, to service clients.
Smart Drop counts Cathay Pacific and South China Morning Post among its clients.
“I’m not done with big agencies,”Edgar said. “I still love the corporate atmosphere. It’s so easy to start a business in Hong Kong and there are a lot of people doing really interesting things here,” she added.
At Waggener Edstrom Henry Wood continues as senior director and regional Lead of Studio D Hong Kong and Korea and said there was a possibility to collaborating with Digital Devotee in the future.
