DRB-HICOM's Mohamed Hazlan Mohamed Hussain named Prasarana's CEO

DRB-HICOM's group director of organisational support, Datuk Mohamed Hazlan Mohamed Hussain, has been named Prasarana's new president and CEO. According to multiple media reports, including The Star, NST and Malay Mail Online, the appointment is effective immediately.Malaysia's finance minister Lim Guan Eng said Hazlan will be tasked with setting a new direction for Prasarana, while aiming to bolster its quality of service in the public transport sector. Hazlan will also be working with the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport for Prasarana's restructuring to ensure that it operates sustainably, media reports said.Prasarana's spokesperson told A+M it will be making the relevant announcements accordingly at a later date.The appointment follows Masnizam Hisham's departure from the role on 2 September 2018. She was named president and CEO in January this year, replacing Datuk Seri Azmi Abdul Aziz, whose contract ended on 31 December last year. She was tasked to ensure the success of the Al Mashaaer Al Muqaddassah Metro Metro-Southern Line project in Saudi Arabia, the training of mass rapid transit workers in Jakarta as well as the Prasarana infrastructure development in areas such as procurement of trains, buses and depots.Prasarana Malaysia is responsible for the operations of the Light Rail Transit, Mass Rapid Transit and monorail, among others. It has six subsidiaries including Prime, Rapid Rail, Rapid Bus and Prasarana Integrated Development.
