The annual race sees a wave of excitement among local runners and international athletes, the details and new measures of the upcoming edition were unveiled.
Following an overwhelming response to the 10KM team entry this year, the organiser has increased the quota to 10,000, which will be allocated to the 10KM Run 3 and 10KM Run 4, allowing runners to enjoy the race with their family and friends. Meanwhile, to address the growing demand for the Marathon category in recent years, its quota will be increased by 4,000 to 22,500.
All runners will receive a personalised bib with their first name and a finisher medal upon completing the competition. Marathon finishers can also engrave their name or a personalised message on their medal for free.
In addition, a mobile app for the competition will be launched later this year, which provides access to the digital race handbook and other race related information, as well as live tracking of runners of the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10KM and 10KM Wheelchair categories during the race.
Organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association and sponsored by Standard Chartered, the sporting event debuted in 1997 and has established itself as an internationally renowned sporting event, the registration for the public ballot entry of all races will kick off from 10 am on 12 September 2018.
