Dentsu SG appoints ex-Citibank marketer as SVP

Dentsu Singapore has appointed ex-regional marketing director, Citibank Cecilia Wong as its senior vice president. Wong will report to Rosalynn Tay, chief executive officer, Dentsu Singapore and Dentsu Aegis Network Singapore.

“The last twenty two months at Dentsu Singapore have been about demonstrating proof of concept with our clients, and it has been a journey at supersonic speeds,” said Tay. “The next phase focuses on ramping up our talent, and bringing in the best in the business to deliver the most innovative ideas.”

Wong brings over twenty years of experience in marketing and advertising to the team at Dentsu Singapore, having worked on both the agency and client businesses in Singapore and Hong Kong. The Singaporean has been based in Singapore since 2003, after spending ten years in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Dentsu Singapore, she was the regional marketing director consumer banking at Citibank for over nine years, based in Singapore.

Wong said: “It’s been a great two weeks in the office settling in with the team. Dentsu Singapore has experienced a massive transformational change in the last two years to become one of the best integrated marketing experts, by not being contented with simply doing what everyone is doing. The agency has worked hard to push boundaries and I look forward to riding through this journey in partnership with Rosalynn and the team, and taking the Dentsu proposition out to market.”

“In the last 18 months our staff strength has grown by 15% to 90 team members, and we aim to future-proof our agency as more global clients choose us as their Agency of Record,” added Tay. “Wong is a fundamental hire to the team, as she heightens our enthusiasm for what’s in store for us in 2015 and beyond. She brings a wealth of experience and proven success across industries, and her ambitions and aspirations match ours perfectly.”

The agency was recently appointed as the agency partner for the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Pringles International, and Singapore Navy Information Centre.
