Dentsu has promoted Adrian Tan from strategic planning director to head of strategy and planning. In his new role, Tan will lead the agency’s strategic delivery, as well as drive innovative business solutions. He will report to Popo Hu, managing director of Dentsu Hong Kong. Tan joined Dentsu in 2017 as strategic planning director, where he was responsible for developing communication frameworks and strategy for clients across a range of sectors including finance, FMCG, travel, automobiles, and real estate. Under his leadership, Tan has doubled the team size and expanded the services offered by the agency.“Unlocking brand and people insights work like second nature to Adrian. And this is absolutely essential because brilliant creative work comes from deep consumer knowledge powered by data and insights,” said Hu. “I’m confident Adrian will continue to strategise our service offerings and propel us to new heights with good innovation.”The elevation of Tan and his new duties were reportedly a response to Dentsu’s growth in the areas of brand consultancy and digital content.“Digital has opened up new frontiers for communications, bringing endless possibilities in brand creativity,” said Tan. “It is indeed an exciting time for us, and I am proud to be working in Dentsu, with a stellar team of Strategy, Creative, Tech as well as top-class talents across the Dentsu Aegis Network.”
