Dentsu Aegis Network names APAC chief growth officer

Dentsu Aegis Network has elevated Masaya Nakamura (pictured) to deputy chairman and chief growth officer for Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific, as Takaki Hibino officially steps into the role of executive chairman. Reporting to Hibino, Nakamura will work alongside him to drive sustainable growth, further developing Dentsu Aegis Network’s client centric model and looking for new opportunities for the business beyond advertising.Prior to his promotion, he was global and Asia Pacific executive client president for Dentsu Aegis Network based in Singapore. Previously he was the executive officer of Dentsu Inc.Nakamura brings with him over 29 years of experience at Dentsu Inc. He has held various senior roles working with global clients such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Bridgestone, providing them with account management and planning services.“Today is my first day in the role of executive chairman, and I’m keen to put in place the best team to help me grow the business. We have a unique prosposition both at Dentsu Aegis Network and at Dentsu Inc. and I think it’s important that we combine strengths from both businesses to grow even further. By working more closely together we can all benefit from even more diverse experience from across the entire business," Hibino said.“Nakamura is perfect for this role with combined experience from Dentsu Inc. and Dentsu Aegis Network out of Singapore. Nakamura will be a vital component in the development of the business here in Asia Pacific," he added.“I’m excited to take on this new role, and to work closely with Hibino-san to grow the business. There is a great deal of incredible talent, and world class clients that we work with, so I believe we can take the business to the next level in the next few years. Our main focus will be on sustainable, long term growth and we will look at many different and innovative ways to retain that strong and steady growth for the business," Nakamura said.Just last week, Dentsu Aegis Network said that it is restructuring its media and performance business in Singapore. Moving forward there will be two verticals that will host Carat, Vizeum, Dentsu X and iProspect. These will be the Brand Solutions business and One Singapore Media Group, also incorporating Amplifi. Meanwhile, a DAN Client Solutions virtual team will sit across all brands to drive best practice.The changes come as Nick Waters, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific looks to move to the UK next month to take on the role of executive chairman of Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland.
