Deliveroo HK hops into World Environment Day with restaurant partnerships

To celebrate World Environment Day on 5 June 2022, Deliveroo has teamed up with five restaurants to incorporate sustainability into customers' daily lives and encourage greener habits. Among the participating restaurant partners include Caterking Dim Sum, Da Vincenzo, Seoul Bros Wan Chai outlet, Mama Mia! Pizzeria and Crazy Noodles. As part of the partnership, these participating restaurant partners joined the brand's subsidised sustainable packing programme earlier this year, using plastic-free packaging provided by zero-waste company Sustainabl. According to Deliveroo, this will aid in eliminating single-use plastic tableware and practice more eco-conscious business operations.

In addition, the brand will expand its engagement with the restaurant partners on World Environment Day by sending out a special thank you card (pictured below) created from eco-friendly paper "seed paper" with orders. Every Deliveroo order placed at a designated restaurant on 5 June will receive a plantable thank you card, where customers can put their notes directly into soil and water for planting.

Once their plant sprouts, they can share a photo on their social media platforms, and Deliveroo aims to donate HKD$20,000 to a local charity focused on habitat restoration by the end of the campaign. The brand hopes that this will encourage consumers to adopt a greener lifestyle, while consuming meals.

According to the brand, this initiative is part of Deliveroo's global community-focused campaign, "Full Life", which seeks to utilise its existing network of riders, restaurants and grocers to support communities in cities where the brand operates.

Meanwhile, Deliveroo has also doubled down on partnerships in the Singapore market. In partnership with BenefitHub, an integrated lifestyle benefits and rewards portal, Deliveroo Singapore offered its fleet of riders across to over 200 everyday discounts and benefits, tailored to riders' needs. Riders can access the BenefitHub portal to access discounts and benefits across different lifestyle areas, such as food and dining, automobile, and travel. According to the brand, riders will receive up to 50% cashback or brands such as Circles.Life, Calvin Klein, Charles & Keith, DirectAsia Insurance, Klook, Shopee, Lazada, Sephora, Zalora, Crocs and more.

Additionally, Deliveroo launched an Easter campaign in Singapore, where users kept a lookout for Deliveroo riders who donned bunny ears on their helmets, a bunny face mask and a bunny tail attached to their delivery bag. This allowed those who took a photo of the delivery riders and posted them on the Deliveroo's Facebook page to stand a chance to win Deliveroo credits. The "Deliveroo Bunnies" covered central areas such as Chinatown, Clarke Quay, Orchard and Bugis, and heartland districts such as Katong, Tampines and Toa Payoh.
