DDB Group has announced the promotions of two key creative staff. Frankie Fung has been elevated from executive creative director to chief creative officer, and Marco Lam has been elevated from executive creative director to ECD and managing director, experience design.

The promotions reflect the global agenda of DDB, following the launch of Unexpected Works, an agency-wide creative vision launched from the New York office. Fung will oversee the entire creative department of DDB Hong Kong and will work to inspire more creative ideation and team unity.

"DDB is my creative home. I have kept coming back throughout my career because ultimately, I think it has the best culture and the best clients - and that provides the opportunity to create the best work. Being able to head up the department is a great privilege. I am really excited about the talent we have in the wider team right now and bringing DDB’s creative vision to life together with our clients," said Fung.

“I am super happy for Frankie. I have known him for eight years and some of the work we did together back in my planning days are still some of my proudest achievements. As well as his ability to create breakthrough work, I really admire how he works with his teams – they all love him. Frankie is a great mentor who provides his teams with both freedom and autonomy," added DDB Group Hong Kong CEO Andreas Krasser.

In new role as ECD and managing director, experience design, Lam will head up brand experiences for clients, while driving new creative services including CX, UX, and UI strategy and design.

"The current climate has indeed posed challenges, but the time is right for brands to explore more innovative ways to better connect with their customers. It’s extremely exciting to witness a client’s brand reach new potential in this space and I can’t wait to do more of it," said Lam.
