DBS HK launches programme to help people plan their retirement

With people planning their retirement long before the day arrives, DBS HK has launched an innovative programme to help people get the most out of their post-work years.

The programme – “Face Your Future” – leverages facial recognition and artificial intelligence technologies to instantly help users visualise their future retirement. By estimating a user’s age, the programme can create a future portrait of the user at retirement age.

The programme’s personalised approach includes a proprietary algorithm that estimates a user’s retirement costs based on their choice of lifestyle in retirement. Users can customise their lifestyle choices in “Face Your Future” to define their retirement preferences, decide when they want to retire, and visualise what this may look like in their golden years.

Commenting on the programme, Ajay Mathur, managing director and head of consumer banking group and wealth management, Hong Kong, at DBS Bank (Hong Kong), said: “Planning for the future and retirement is never easy, and is even more challenging given the current uncertainties surrounding the pandemic. As life expectancy increases, lifestyle needs also change.”

He added: “It is important to know how to finance for a longer life. Through ‘Face Your Future’, we hope to provide people with a better understanding of their retirement needs, so they can look forward to their future with confidence and peace of mind.”
