While the pandemic's impact on the economy still lingers, SMEs in the city suffer even more. DBS Hong Kong has launched an initiative to help these companies as they account for 98% of the total business community in Hong Kong.

The campaign "This is DBS digibanking" includes a video depicting the challenges that SMEs in the city are facing, while also addressing their painpoints through DBS Hong Kong’s elevated digital banking experience. The message is built around how the bank sees the potential in SMEs and supports their dreams.

“SMEs account for more than 98% of the total business community in Hong Kong, and we see our role to back up this key driver of our economy," said Eva Leung, head of marketing, executive director of institutional banking group at DBS Bank Hong Kong.

"‘This is DBS digibanking’ is our commitment to better support SMEs through a new era of intuitive, invisible, and intelligent digital banking. Just like everything else we do, the goal has always been taking the hassle out of banking for our customers so that they can 'Live More' and 'Bank Less',” she added.

Murphy Siu, group creative director of dentsu Hong Kong, commented, "Our idea was to bring out this notion of progress and purpose powered by DBS SME banking. By narrating the stories of three SMEs, our video captured their lives behind their business and the hopeful journey ahead. With that, we are able to create an emotional connection with our audiences and empower them to get more out of life."
