Danone’s AQUA has appointed Wunderman Thompson Indonesia as its lead brand agency. The appointment was concluded following a four-way pitch involving incumbent VMLY&R, Bates, Grey and Wunderman Thompson.
According to Danone, it was looking for an agency partner that would help to deliver new and innovative marketing solutions for its iconic brand in Indonesia AQUA.
As the new lead brand agency, Wunderman Thompson will now be responsible for developing and delivering all brand communication campaigns for Danone-AQUA. In addition, the agency will also play the role of lead integrator agency among Danone-AQUA specialist partners.
Ethan Lim, VP marketing of Danone Waters aid Wunderman Thompson Indonesia was able to present diverse ideas, share outstanding strategies, and demonstrate passion as well as commitment in achieving the company’s goal.

Meanwhile, newly appointed CEO of Wunderman Thompson Indonesia, Vaishali Sarkar said the agency believes that creative bravery and out of the box strategic thinking is what differentiated it from the rest during the pitch.

Recently, Danone Indonesia appointed Wavemaker to handle media duties for its AQUA and specialised nutrition segments for two years, with the option to extend for another year. Brands under Danone's specialised nutrition segment include SGM-Danone, Bebelac, and Nutrilon. The appointment covers media planning and implementation and comes after a pitch which saw incumbent Havas Media defending the account.
