Audio brand Creative Labs (Creative) has appointed Cher Young Wee (pictured) as its global marketing lead, reporting directly to newly appointed CEO Ernest Sim.

In the role, Wee will be responsible for building and executing a unified global marketing strategy aimed at strengthening Creative’s brand positioning, supporting product launches and driving demand across key markets. The appointment is also expected to align global and regional marketing efforts to ensure marketing investments translate into measurable business growth, he told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

As part of his remit, Wee will oversee global brand positioning across Creative’s audio portfolio, which spans sound cards, headsets, speakers and DACs. This includes shaping clear value propositions around areas such as high-fidelity audio, immersive gaming sound and creator-grade audio performance, while ensuring consistent messaging across global markets.

Wee will also lead global go-to-market strategies for new product launches, coordinating product marketing, PR, digital campaigns, influencer partnerships and retail promotions to drive awareness and demand.

Another key focus will be demand generation through digital and community-led marketing across platforms such as YouTube, Meta, Twitch, Reddit and TikTok, targeting gamers, PC builders, streamers and audio enthusiasts. Wee will leverage product reviews, creator collaborations and performance marketing to build credibility and influence purchasing decisions.

In addition, he will oversee global media planning and marketing budget allocation across regions including North America, Europe and Asia, while prioritising high-impact channels such as influencer reviews, paid search, marketplace advertising and retargeting.

Wee will also work closely with retail and marketplace partners such as Amazon to optimise product listings, run promotional campaigns and improve conversion across sales channels.

Prior to joining Creative, Wee was SEA marketing manager at Audio-Technica where he was responsible for marketing activity and strategy across eight countries, according to his LinkedIn. He also took on marketing roles at OPPO and nübox among others.

Speaking on his appointment, Wee said: “At Creative Technology, my mission is to bring world-class audio experiences back to the centre of gaming, entertainment and content creation.”

“I’m excited to reconnect with a new generation of gamers and creators by combining Creative’s legacy of audio innovation with modern digital experiences," he added.

The appointment comes as Creative looks to revitalise its global brand presence and reconnect with gaming, creator and audio enthusiast communities.

Separately, Razer's Asia regional marketing director, Vanessa Tan, has stepped down from the role. She joins personal care brand Stryv as its chief marketing officer.

As CMO, Tan will develop a structured regional go-to-market framework as the company expands. She will also oversee brand strategy, marketing, marketplaces and growth across the brand's portfolio of products and markets.
