Coca-Cola Indonesia has launched 'Nongkrong seru bareng Coca-Cola', a new brand campaign celebrating the country's social dining culture as the company marks 99 years in Indonesia and looks ahead to its centenary.

The initiative is designed around Indonesia's long-standing nongkrong tradition, positioning shared meals, drinks and conversations as moments that bring people together across generations. The campaign also marks the first major brand initiative under newly appointed president director Eva Lusiana.

"As we approach Coca-Cola's 100th year in Indonesia, we are deeply grateful that Coca-Cola continues to be part of everyday moments across generations. For many Indonesians, myself included, having grown up with the brand, Coca-Cola is known not only for its taste but also for the memories created around it - from sharing meals with family and gathering with friends to the many moments of togetherness that bring people closer," said Lusiana.

Don't miss: Why would a recognisable brand like Coca-Cola need a refresh?

As part of the campaign, Coca-Cola showcased its signature serving ritual, featuring a chilled Contour glass, ice, an ice-cold Coca-Cola and a fresh lemon garnish, designed to elevate the drinking experience.

The brand also introduced curated food pairing and mixology experiences highlighting its wider beverage portfolio, including Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite. According to restaurateurs Gupta Sitorus and Primo Rizky, different drinks can complement a range of dishes by balancing flavours and refreshing the palate.

"Food pairing is about creating harmony of flavours. Coca-Cola's carbonation and mild acidity help refresh the palate, making it an ideal accompaniment to rich, smoky and savoury dishes. Fanta's bold fruity flavour pairs easily with a wide range of snacks, while Sprite's refreshing lemon-lime taste complements seafood and lighter dishes, and also enhances the experience of enjoying spicy food," they said.

Among the featured creations was Pickled Cola, a mixology drink combining Coca-Cola with pickled gherkins and jalapeños. The food pairing menu also matched Coca-Cola's beverages with dishes ranging from fried chicken, burgers and pizza to Indonesian favourites such as mie celor.

"Nongkrong seru bareng Coca-Cola reflects the way Indonesians build connections today. We hope this initiative will create more opportunities for people to slow down, share stories, enjoy good food, and spend meaningful time with those closest to them while exploring new flavour combinations. After all, the moments we remember most are often the ones shared around the dining table," Lusiana concluded.
