Clozette Group doubles down on Malaysia growth with new business head

Digital marketing company, Clozette Group, has appointed Mark Rodrigues as business head for Malaysia. He succeeds former country manager for Malaysia, Lee See Yin, who left last December. Rodrigues (pictured) will lead the overall business in Malaysia, where his responsibilities include driving growth for all of Clozette Group’s business lines.

This also includes the development of cross-border marketing opportunities between Malaysia and other regional markets, through which he can leverage the group’s presence in Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan. Rodrigues has over 25 years of experience in the advertising and media industry, having led commercial operations across a variety of roles in both digital and traditional media sectors.

Before Clozette, Rodrigues was the business head of BuzzOne Malaysia for more than two years. As business head, he was responsible for helping brands with their influencer marketing. He also led the sales and operations team, overseeing all operational issues in the Malaysia office. He also worked at Media Prima for a decade.

“I am thrilled to be part of a team that is committed to delivering innovative, result-oriented marketing solutions, supported by a full arsenal of digital assets and an extensive regional network of content creators and influencers," said Rodrigues.

As business head, he added that one of his key tasks at Clozette Group was to accelerate the growth of its influencer and content marketing services and to roll out fresh initiatives with the aim of further strengthening our offerings for the Malaysian market.

"Rodrigues' management, business and leadership expertise will be instrumental in navigating this fast-growing market, as we help brands decipher and harness the evolving content consumption behaviours of consumers in the new normal. I am confident that Rodrigues will further strengthen our position in the digital marketing landscape, and broaden our influencer and content marketing services here," said Clozette Group's CEO and founder, Roger Yuen.

Aside from hiring Rodrigues, the Group also rebranded its online platform, unveiling a fresh new look under the name, TheBeauLife. According to the Group, the website revamp formed part of a company-wide initiative to expand its digital marketing services and to evolve and grow with its readership and target audiences. The change came as the pandemic significantly changed the way consumers prioritise their lifestyle choices, with an increase in wellness and fitness-related purchases over the past two years.

"In 2010, Clozette Group was brought to life as a pioneer in native advertising, creating a new category of storytelling that marries the best of editorial authority with the authenticity and scale of curated user-generated content.  As we cross our first decade, the company has evolved into a full-service digital marketing company anchored on content that performs," said Yuen previously.
