CIMB Bank looks to grow its market share

CIMB Group Singapore has launched a new card in hopes to increase its market share to become one of Singapore’s top six credit card issuers in the next three to five years. Along with that, it has also launched a new brand campaign.

The campaign created by creative agency MaghamGaxiola and runs on print, OOH, radio and digital platforms. Currently no time frame has been slated and the campaign is said to run in the Singapore market only. The card runs with the tagline ‘Life is always 3.8% better with CIMB Visa Signature’ and targets the millennials. The media agency behind the campaign is Vizeum.

The new card is aimed to cater to the changing lifestyle needs of Singaporeans, a spokesperson from CIMB Bank Singapore said.

Mak Lye Mun, country head of CIMB Group Singapore and CEO of CIMB Bank Singapore said that the introduction of the CIMB VISA Signature Card completes the entire gamut of CIMB Credit Card offerings “to suit the needs of the mass affordable segment of customers”.

“Since we first introduced CIMB Credit Cards in 2009, we have increased our card base seventeen-fold and captured more than 10% market share. We partnered with VISA in 2013 to roll out our first VISA branded card – CIMB VISA Infinite Card – offering first class privileges to the affluent customer segment. It achieved more than 16,000 card base within just a year of its launch, a creditable performance in the premium card space,” Mak said.
