After eight years leading M&C Saatchi across Asia, CEO Chris Jaques is stepping down from the role.
Jaques will continue to work with worldwide CEO Moray Maclennan until the end of 2015 to ensure a smooth transition, but will take up a new, unannounced position in Asia at the beginning of 2016.
“This seems like the right time for me to make the next move in my career,” Jaques said.
“I’ve had an amazing eight years at M&C Saatchi. It’s a truly fantastic company, with a unique model and an amazing culture. I’ll miss many, many friends throughout Asia and around the world.”
He added that M&C was in great shape right now and the timing was right to make a move.
“I have other ambitions that I want to achieve. And since M&C Saatchi Asia is in great shape right now, this seems like the right time for me to make the next move in my career.”
In a statement released to Marketing Maclennan said over the last few years, M&C has transformed its presence in Asia.
“We’ve launched exciting new operations in Japan, China, India and Singapore; we’ve built our expertise in digital, social and mobile – and we’ve created Asia’s fastest-growing and most profitable agency network.
“I’d like to thank Chris for his role in making this happen, and I wish him all the best as he pursues the next phase of his career.”
Maclennan and Jaques will work together throughout the rest of 2015 to ensure that there is a seamless transition.
