Cheil Indonesia has named Young Min Ha as head of retail for Samsung Mobile, in a move aimed at bolstering its shopper-centric and data-led retail strategies in Indonesia’s fast-evolving mobile and consumer technology landscape.

Ha joins from Cheil KSA, where he oversaw retail marketing for Samsung Mobile and Consumer Electronics across Saudi Arabia. His responsibilities spanned in-store transformations, fixture innovation, and field force programmes, all designed to enhance sell-out performance. He also managed vendor partnerships, supply chains, incentive schemes, and launch campaigns, aligning global retail vision with local market execution.

A retail marketing specialist with over 15 years of international experience, Ha has built a career across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, working with global brands such as Samsung, LG, and Hyundai. His professional journey blends brand-side leadership with agency expertise, including senior roles at Cheil, Innocean, and HS Ad.

“Young Min’s journey from Cheil KSA to Cheil Indonesia brings us not just a leader, but a proven builder of retail ecosystems that connect global strategy with local market impact,” said Joo Hwan Kim, CEO of Cheil Indonesia. “His ability to merge cultural understanding with operational excellence will be invaluable in helping our clients, particularly in Samsung’s Mobile division, to create retail experiences that drive both brand engagement and business results.”

In Jakarta, Ha will lead Cheil Indonesia’s retail strategy, driving in-store innovation and omnichannel shopper engagement. His remit will focus on ensuring Samsung’s retail presence in Indonesia continues to set benchmarks for customer experience and sales performance.

“Retail is the brand’s frontline, it’s where decisions are made, loyalty is built, and growth happens,” said Ha. “Having seen diverse retail landscapes in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and now Southeast Asia, I’m excited to work with the Cheil Indonesia team and our clients to build next-generation retail experiences that inspire shoppers and deliver measurable impact.”

Ha’s experience includes setting fixture and field force standards across 16 African markets and managing digital campaigns in Europe and Saudi Arabia. His approach, likened to navigating a dense, ever-changing forest, is defined by precision, adaptability, and contextual understanding.

The appointment underscores Cheil Indonesia’s commitment to world-class talent and client-first innovation, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in experience-driven marketing.
