Centrestage is back to showcase Hong Kong designers' prowess

The annual fashion event Centrestage will take place next month, offering brands and designers opportunities to connect with buyers, media and fashion professionals.This year's Centrestage surpasses every previous edition as it will feature some 230 fashion brands from 22 countries and regions and a series of events. Brands and designer labels from Austria, Canada, Germany, Poland and Switzerland will participate at Centrestage for the first time, and about 40 events including more than 20 fashion shows will be presented.The event will centre on the theme of "Tomorrow Lab". It encompasses three zones: "Allure" - representing craftsmanship, refinement and elegance; "Iconic" - displaying contemporary, chic and avant-garde designs; "Metro" - showcasing casual, youthful expressions of urban life.One of the highlights will be the opening gala show Centrestage Elites, featuring Japanese brand Facetasm, Chinese label Ms MIN and local womenswear label IDISM. The gala show will be followed by the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show with eight Hong Kong designer labels included.Centrestage 2018 also contains seminars, awards, a summit. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the event will kick off from 5 September until 8 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre."We are excited that Centrestage can offer local and overseas designers a platform to grow their brands. It provides brands with a unique opportunity to engage with global buyers and fashionistas in the fashion hub in Asia," concluded Benjamin Chau, deputy executive director of HKTDC.
