Catcha Digital has acquired 100% of TechNave through its wholly-owned subsidiary iMedia Asia, marking its latest move in an ongoing acquisition drive aimed at consolidating its position in Malaysia’s digital media and marketing ecosystem.

The deal, valued at RM6.125 million and funded via internally generated funds, gives Catcha full control of Maxoom Sdn Bhd, the company behind TechNave, a multilingual consumer tech media platform spanning English, Chinese and Malay.

TechNave reaches more than 2 million users monthly across social platforms and over 1.5 million monthly views on YouTube and TikTok, supported by strong SEO performance and long-standing relationships with brands such as Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, Honor and Xiaomi.

The move marks Catcha Digital’s entry into the consumer tech vertical, adding to its fast-expanding media and digital services portfolio. It also unlocks revenue and cross-selling synergies, with TechNave integrating into iMedia’s lifestyle-led network to offer advertisers a broader and more comprehensive multi-platform media ecosystem.

This acquisition follows a steady buying spree by Catcha Digital over the past year as it continues to execute on its strategy to build what the group describes as a leading digital player in the region. In March 2025, the company announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in Digital Symphony, followed shortly by a 60% acquisition of Framemotion Studio. Earlier, in December 2024, it also acquired a 51% stake in Nexible Solutions. Other recent buys include Drive 2 Digital, Tastefully Malaysia, One International Exhibition, and the proposed acquisition of Theta Service Partner.

Patrick Grove, chairman of Catcha Digital, said the acquisition of TechNave strengthens the group’s position in a high-growth category and adds depth to its advertiser offering. "Combining TechNave's strong credibility and deep relationships with global tech brands with our iMedia lifestyle network creates a powerful new offering for advertisers. We are excited to work with the team to accelerate their growth."

Co-founder of TechNave, Steven Boon, said joining Catcha Digital positions the brand for its next phase of scale and growth. "Joining Catcha Digital marks the perfect next chapter for the company. Their extensive network, digital expertise, and proven track record will provide the resources TechNave needs to scale to even greater heights, and we are confident they are the right partner to lead it into the future," he said.

The deal is expected to be immediately value-accretive, contributing positively to earnings while delivering cost efficiencies through operational consolidation. Catcha Digital said it will continue to explore further strategic acquisitions that strengthen its foothold in Southeast Asia’s fast-growing digital economy.

The Malaysian investment holding company recently strengthened its capital position following the completion of its renounceable rights issue, which was oversubscribed by 78.25% and raised RM24.33 million. The strong subscription response was positioned by the company as a vote of confidence in its strategy to build a leading digital group in ASEAN, backed by the region’s rapidly growing RM1 trillion digital economy. The funds provide Catcha Digital additional capacity to pursue acquisitions and scale its portfolio companies, with the new shares and warrants expected to begin trading on the ACE Market in mid-November.

The rights issue follows an active twelve months of dealmaking. Most of the transactions include performance-linked payment structures, signalling Catcha Digital’s focus on earnings contribution and integration discipline as it continues to expand across the digital economy.
