Carlsberg Malaysia has appointed Olga Pulyaeva (pictured) as marketing director, replacing Caroline Moreau who is now GM of the Singapore operations. Pulyaeva was most recently brand development director at Baltika Breweries, Carlsberg Group's Russian business which was divested on 28 March. The Russian operations previously had a market share of approximately 27% in the country, according to Carlsberg's website.

According to her LinkedIn, Pulyaeva was part of the marketing leadership team in Baltika where she managed a team of nine. She was responsible for the brand leadership across the Central and Eastern European regions, driving alignment in communication and portfolio development in the markets.

Before that, she was based in Switzerland as craft and speciality portfolio director where she was the strategic lead and commercially responsible for key local and international brands including Valaisanne. Pulyaeva was also the head of business development and business development manager for Carlsberg in Switzerland. Overall, she has been with the group since 2012 and joined as programme manager (go-to-market) covering multiple European markets - Switzerland, Portugal, Croatia, Bulgaria, Poland, UK and France.

For three years, Malaysia's marketing team was led by Moreau who drove marketing, communication, innovation, as well as channel strategies and plans. A+M has reached out to Carlsberg for additional information about Pulyaeva's appointment.

Separately, the brand recently celebrated its 30-year partnership with Liverpool by ewarding punters with an exclusive Carlsberg Liverpool FC Legends Edition 6-can pack and a meet-and-greet opportunity with Liverpool FC legends. Carlsberg treated 100 contest winners to an all-expense paid trip to Thailand to catch the exhilarating pre-season match between Liverpool FC and Manchester United at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok. It is also giving out limited-edition cans this month to pay tribute to Liverpool FC’s six phenomenal icons and their jerseys.
