In line with the 18th Asian Games, Canon has launched a new campaign in a bid to bring visitors and at-home fans closer to the games. This saw the brand bringing a 180-degree GIF booth to Jakarta for the Canon Experience Center located at the Kaka Festival Area, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Sports Complex.
The centre also features the latest Canon consumer products, and a print centre where visitors can print their photos, schedule of the Games, as well as a map to the best photo spots at the various venues of the Asian Games.
Nine photo spots, located in several facilities across GBK Sports Complex, Aquatic Center, Rugby Field, Baseball Stadium, and Istora, has also been set up by Canon to help spectators get closer to the action. This is by giving them the best vantage point to take photos of key events.
Meanwhile, Canon Touch and Trial booths located in the Aquatic Center, Basketball Hall, and Istora will let visitors try Canon’s cameras and printers in between the action. A photo competition on Canon Asia’s Instagram page will also be running from 2 September 2018 to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and unity during the Asian Games, with the opportunity to win prizes from Canon.
“The Asian Games is particularly meaningful as an occasion for our Asian neighbours to gather and celebrate this quadrennial experience, and we want to bring spectators closer to the Games, whether they are in the stadium or watching from home,” Noriko Gunji, president and CEO, Canon Singapore said.
The move comes on the back of Canon’s sponsorship for 18th Asian Games which saw the brand providing further operational support at the Asian Games through its range of consumer and enterprise products and services. This includes being on-site to provide behind-the-scenes technical support, advice and maintenance services of cameras and lenses to members of the media covering the Asian Games 2018.
The sponsorship also saw Canon engaging both Schooling and the Singapore National Bowling team to be featured in its Asian Games integrated brand campaign across print and digital platforms in Singapore. This campaign looks to express how the brand celebrates excellence through sportsmanship, and brings the unique experience of the triumph, trials and excitement of the Asian Games 2018 even closer to fans across Asia.
