HOW brands used social media to support same-sex marriage

As rainbows filled social media streams over the weekend, consumer brands were leading the charge to support the Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage.

Social analytics platform Spredfast said 3.6 million tweets using the #lovewins hashtag had been posted as of Friday.

Tech companies including Google, Uber and Facebook used their own platforms and social media to celebrate the decision.

A Google search for “gay marriage” showed an image of people holding hands at the top of the search results, while Uber displayed rainbows behind its cars.
