Brand New Media launches Creator Collective

Brand New Media has launched Creator Collective, a new industry educational and engagement programme which hopes to facilitate a new generation of commercial online content creators in Singapore. The programme sees a partnership between Brand New Media Global (BNM) and Asia Content Marketing Association (ACMA). Together, the two hope to reach out to more than 200 online content creators in Singapore. The Creator Collective programme is supported under the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA)’s Creators’ Space initiative. The content marketing arena has recently been making waves in the marketing industry with the rise of players such as BNM, Click2View, Novus Media, Kudos Content and King Content to name a few.It has caught the attention of the local government and led to the birth of Mediapolis@one-north which seeks to be Singapore’s first digital media hub, where emerging media technologies, content, services and applications will be developed, produced, financed and distributed to the world. We've also recently seen the likes of SPH and Isentia seeing the importance of the arena taking a significant stake in BNM and King Content respectively.“It is exciting for MDA and Creators’ Space to partner BNM in this cross-media training platform, with the support of a regional association of expert practitioners. We see the Creator Collective as the right move in equipping a new generation of content creators with the skills to succeed in a rapidly changing media industry,” Joachim Ng, director of industry operations in MDA said.“Establishing an ecosystem of creative, commercially capable young entrepreneurs in this area is a cornerstone to success. Dedicated, inspirational marketing content that focuses on consumer needs discounts the need for interruptive advertising and allows brands to own the customer relationship, own the data, and provide opportunities for commercial interactions," Nick Fawbert, head of knowledge, Brand New Media Global said. The programme also includes Creator Academy; an e-learning platform delivering a structured approach to acquire key skills, endorsed by ACMA, as well as a series of workshops for hand-on learning opportunities with leading media and advertising industry professionals. Participants will have opportunities to work on actual prospective client’s brief where the winner gets a chance to have his/her proposal selected by the client for development into full production at the end of the programme.“We are investing heavily in this project because we see it as a unique stepping stone to commercial success for independent creators and a way of supporting regional industry growth with Singapore as a creative hub,” added Fawbert. Cients who are supporting the move include Johnson & Johnson and Mead Johnson Nutrition.Along with the ACMA, additional speakers and contributors confirmed come from international and regional agencies including MEC Wavemaker, Mindshare Content Trust, Zenith Newscast, Dentsu Aegis Network, Novus Media, Click2View, Kudos Content and Unruly Media.
