BMW concludes media pitch, tipped to appoint MediaCom

BMW Singapore is understood to have concluded its search for a media partner to handle media planning and buying duties in the Singapore market. This follows a competitive pitch which concluded late last year.

UPDATE: BMW has confirmed the appointment of MediaCom as its media agency partner.

“After our intense pitch, we are happy to be working with MediaCom. With their vast experience in automotive industry, we believe their media strategies would be able to profile BMW brand to greater heights,” Sonja Piontek, director of marketing BMW Asia, said.

In 2014, BMW Asia concluded its search for an integrated agency partner, naming Ogilvy & Mather Singapore as the winner of the business. This was after a multi-stage pitch process that started in February 2014.

Meanwhile in Malaysia, BMW Malaysia launched a creative pitch for its local market in November. This saw the auto brand parting ways with incumbent agency Ogilvy Malaysia after a partnership of five years. A+M understands that the agencies involved are Naga DDB Malaysia, Saatchi & Saatchi Arachnid, FCB Malaysia and Cheil Malaysia. BMW Malaysia also appointed Zenith for media buying duties and Cohn and Wolfe as its PR agency.
