BLK J bolsters creative and strategy teams with 5 new hires

BLK J has made five new hires to support its growing stable of clients. The agency appointed Qiu Jing as art director and Luke Somasundram as copywriter. Skanda Lokeswaran also joins as strategic planner from Dentsu Singapore.

Prior to the appointment, Qiu and Somasundram were at Publicis Singapore and have also worked at Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO. Brands the two have worked with include Tiger Beer, Guinness, Mercedes-Benz and Scoot. In addition to the creative hires, the agency also hired fresh graduates Maria Isaeva and Kezia Augusta as junior art directors.

All creative hires will report to co-founders Khalid Osman, Lester Lee and Joji Jacob. They will also work on all of BLK J’s clients, including StarHub, The Learning Lab, STB, SWITCH and Union Pay.

Meanwhile, Lokeswaran joins from Dentsu Singapore, where he was a strategist. In his role he aided in developing and executing brand, digital, interactive and social strategies for clients. He has worked on brands such as Disney, WWF, Lien AID, AccorHotels, Pringles and more. He reports to Jonathan Lim, head of strategy.
