In October 2018, the Bank of East Asia (BEA) launched an exhibition to showcase its history and kick off itsĀ 100th anniversary. Recently,Ā  the bank has aired a TVC, highlighting the milestones in the past 100 years. Founded in 1918, BEA is one of leadingĀ Hong Kong-based financial services groups listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. The new TVC featuresĀ current staff members in nearly half of the roles to pay homage to the generations of BEA employees - who have contributed to the bankā€™s success. The commercial demonstrates how the bank has made progress with the people of Hong Kong over the past 100 years, reflecting how it had innovated throughout the century. It also reconstructs scenes that evoke memories among generations of Hong Kong people. The bank said theĀ production took six months with over 100 talents portraying people from different generations. With nearly half of the cast made up by current BEA staff members, the commercial aims to convey the message that the bank would not have achieved its success without the support of its employees. Also on 2 January,Ā BEA hosted a cocktail reception at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to celebrate its centenary, achievements and contributions to the development of Hong Kongā€™s banking industry. At the reception,Ā David Li, chairman & chief executive of BEA, was proud with the bank's achievement over the past 100 years. ā€œOur Bank was established in 1918, with a mission to serve the Hong Kong business community and promote trade. We filled a need that was not being met by other institutions, neither Western banks nor Chinese money lenders. As BEA has grown, evolved and prospered hand-in-hand with the city throughout our storied history, we now have a global presence, with branches in Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and the North America. We link Hong Kong around the world," he concluded. Credit: Creative Agency ā€“ Communion W Film Production ā€“ Film Factory Media Agency ā€“ phd
