BBC Studios reorganises APAC business, appoints Jon Penn as EVP

BBC Studios has restructured its APAC branches to create a new regional business, appointing Jon Penn to lead the new establishment as executive vice president, APAC.The content company has brought together its Asia, Australia, and New Zealand territories to create a new APAC regional business comprising international sales and distribution business. In his expanded role, Penn, who is the former managing director of Australia and New Zealand for BBC Studios, will continue to report to Paul Dempsey, president of global distribution of BBC Studios."Having spent many years working throughout the region, I’m thrilled to be offered the opportunity to bring the Australia and New Zealand team, and the Asia team together for the first time. We will continue to bring the very best of the BBC’s world-class content to customers throughout Asia-Pacific," said Penn.The move comes soon after the departure of Myleeta Aga, acting executive vice-president, Asia for BBC Studios. It also follows the 1 September merger of BBC Studios’ international sales and distribution business - encompassing content sales, branded services and ancillaries - into a single global distribution group under Dempsey's oversight.
