Axiata Group’s edotco Malaysia unit has partnered with Sunway Digital Wave to bolster the latter’s telecommunications infrastructure. The partnership is slated to end in 2025, with an option for a seven-year renewal.
Following the move, edotco will be in charge of designing, building and managing the infrastructure, NST reported. The infrastructure will also be installed at Sunway Group commercial buildings, medical centres, universities and shopping malls. This includes Sunway Geo, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Putra and Sunway Velocity, which will be the first few sites to enjoy the new solutions, the report added.
New technologies and solutions include a network of antennas for in-building solutions, small cells and multi-tenant base transceiver station hotels to allow mobile operators to increase capacity. This will allow telecommunication coverage to be improved along with faster data speeds.
