Havas Australia has promoted Amber Abbott to chief executive officer of creative communications agency One Green Bean, following a period of strong commercial growth during her time as managing director.
Abbott will now lead the agency’s strategic direction and operations, working alongside managing partner Lauren Bailey and head of content Laura Byrne. Her focus will include driving digital innovation, creative excellence and new strategic partnerships.
Abbott has been with One Green Bean for 11 years, starting as an account director in 2014 before moving through senior leadership roles including head of client services and general manager. She was appointed managing director in January 2023.
The promotion comes as OGB celebrates its 18th year in Australia and a string of new client wins, including Pinterest and Tourism & Events Queensland. The agency continues to hold long-term relationships with Nike and Meat & Livestock Australia, now spanning over a decade.
James Wright, group CEO at Havas Creative Network ANZ and global chair of the Havas PR Network, said Abbott is one of the most dedicated, organised and committed leaders he has worked with. “With her strategic mindset and eye for a great idea, she has all the attributes you want in a CEO.”
“We’re still the feisty, boutique agency we were all those years ago - but with the reach, reliability and rigour of a global network behind us. That is a powerful combination,” Abbott said.
She added that her mission as CEO would be to foster growth opportunities for her team while supporting balance and wellbeing. “I want to inspire my team to be present in their life beyond work, pursue passions and remain consciously curious - because the life bit makes you fundamentally better at the work bit.”
One Green Bean has offices in Sydney and London and is part of the Havas Creative Network.
