Reality show The Amazing Race Philippines will have a second season, which will is scheduled to air again exclusively on TV5 this 6 October.
Major production house activeTV Asia announced that they have completed creating The Amazing Race Philippine 2 and has changed the frequency and length of episodes. Hosted by celebrity Derek Ramsey, the show will now run every day from Mondays to Sundays for 10 weeks instead of hour-long episodes aired once a week.
Michael McKay, the Director of The Amazing Race Philippines 2 and president of activeTV Asia, noted the challenges of producing a nightly version of the hit American reality series. Condensed to half-hour episodes, McKay mentioned that the Fast Forward challenges have been dropped to fit the new format and keep the pace that The Amazing Race is famous for.
Winning teams bring home 2 house and land lots from RCD Royal Homes, 2 Kia Sportage cars and a cash prize of ₱2 million from PLDT, the parent company of TV5.
The Amazing Race Philippines 2 is the third race for activeTV this year. activeTV was previously involved in the latest American version of The Amazing Race Season 25 with CBS and Worldrace Productions, and is currently producing The Amazing Race Israeli Season 4 with Reshet TV.
