Airbnb's Julian Persaud shifts to UK to take on new role

Julian Persaud, regional director of Airbnb Asia Pacific has moved to the UK office to take the role of director of International Trips at Airbnb.According to a spokesperson, he will remain involved in APAC in his new role and will be actively supported in this role by the leadership team in the region. She declined to comment if a new hire would be made to replace Persaud's role in the office.Persaud (pictured) has been with Airbnb since 2015 and was tasked to develop and leading all strategic initiatives and operations in Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he was Southeast Asia managing director at Google. Persaud joined Google in 2005 and most recently held the role of managing director of Southeast Asia sales and operations, overseeing sales, marketing and partnership development in the region.Prior to Singapore, he was based in Google’s Sydney office as the head of online for Google Australia, managing Google’s efforts to help small and medium sized Australian businesses take advantage of online advertising. He has also had stints in Yahoo Search Marketing and UK auction house QXL.Mid last year, Airbnb appointed Juliana Nguyen as head of marketing for APAC. She replaced Matthias Schuecking who exited the role after a two year long tenure with the company. Nguyen joins from Nike where she was its marketing director for around six years, where she was responsible for the growth of digital communities, grassroots and major event executions in the running and women’s categories.
