AirAsia has unveiled SNAP, a new name for flight + hotel packages on airasia.com offering the lowest guaranteed package prices, as part of its continued commitment to transform airasia.com into Asia Pacific’s leading travel and lifestyle platform.
In a statement to A+M, Amanda Woo, AirAsia's regional commercial head, said it chose the name SNAP because it is catchy, fun and easy to remember. "Similar to offering low fares for flights, we hope to encourage consumers to snap up the best travel package," she added.
AirAsia also plans to leverage on its wealth of data and through machine learning, create personalised bundle options to meet different travel demands. According to her, the airline flew nearly 100 million guests in 2019 and they are "the biggest asset" for SNAP. "As AirAsia is already offering low-fares for flights, together with our hotel partners, we will continue to ensure our flight + hotel package rates remain affordable and competitive at the same time," Woo explained.
Last month, AirAsia expanded its online offering to include flights on other airlines, done in partnership with travel technology company Kiwi.com. AirAsia is also exploring opportunities to partner directly with airlines and companies which complement its existing network and travel services beyond Asia Pacific. Meanwhile, it also launched a new label known as RedRecords, together with Universal Music Group, focused on signing, developing and breaking new Asian artists and elevating A-pop globally.
