AirAsia will have its branding featured inside the Octagon at the upcoming UFC fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov on 6 October 2018. Held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the red corner of the Octagon, an eight-sided octagonal mat and cage which UFC fighters compete in, will be taken over by AirAsia. In the lead up to the event, AirAsia's cabin crew will join UFC's Octagon Girls on stage during the official ceremonial weigh-ins, one of the many highlights of a UFC fight week. Additionally, the partnership will allow the airline to extend its brand presence on a global scale with asset integration across UFC's social, digital and pay-per-view broadcast. This is part of the partnership which AirAsia and UFC inked last year, making AirAsia the official airline sponsor of the tournament. The partnership sees AirAsia obtaining rights to signage and branding inside UFC’s world-famous Octagon during the event in Shanghai and select international UFC events in 2018. The airline will also serve as a presenting sponsor of select UFC Fan Experiences throughout the region and promote a national sweepstakes campaign.Beyond this event, AirAsia will continue to activate across UFC properties, including its inaugural event in Beijing later this year during UFC® FIGHT NIGHT: BLAYDES vs. NGANNOU 2. AirAsia planes flying to Beijing during fight week will also be decorated with UFC branded livery. The UFC branded livery on AirAsia was first launched in May this year, reinforcing the airline's commitment to growing the brand and sport in Asia.
