Agency of the Year and MARKies Finalists Revealed

Advertising + Marketing magazine today has unveiled the finalists for the 2014 Agency of the Year and MARKies Awards.

Now in its fifth year, the Advertising + Marketing’s Agency of the Year Awards serves as Malaysia’s leading barometer for agency performance across key marketing disciplines.

Seventy-six finalists made the shortlist this year for the 10 Agency of the Year categories contested. With agencies such as Leo Burnett / Arc Worldwide, Lowe & Partners Malaysia, Saatchi & Saatchi Arachnid, TBWA\ Group Malaysia and XM Malaysia being short-listed in multiple categories, the contest for the overall title this year is set to be one of the toughest ever. The MARKies, the component that celebrates some of Malaysia’s most innovative, creative and effective campaigns, sees 150 entries making the cut from over 300 entries received.

Thirty-six agencies will be in the running for the MARKies trophies where the two best performers will stand a chance to be crowned the Overall Creative Ideas MARKie and Overall Media Usage MARKie.

Alpha 245, Carat Malaysia, Mitosis and Mindshare Malaysia are some of the agencies that will be entering the awards with entries in multiple categories. Click here to look at the MARKies finalists.

Entries were short listed and judged by a panel of senior client-marketers hailing from brands such as Axiata Group, BMW Group Malaysia, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Prudential Assurance Malaysia and Tune Talk. Winners will be announced at the Agency of the Year Awards gala dinner at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel on 6 June.
