For Kuantan residents, everyday grocery shopping has just become a little easier – and a lot more enjoyable. AEON has officially opened its first supermarket in the city, marking an important step in bringing modern retail convenience closer to East Coast communities.

Located on Level 2 of East Coast Mall, Kuantan, the 49,331-square-foot AEON Kuantan supermarket welcomed its first shoppers on 15 January 2026. Designed as a one-stop destination for daily essentials, the store offers a broad selection of quality groceries, fresh food and tech- enabled shopping features tailored to today’s fast-paced lifestyles.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Amizar Abu Adam, Pahang State Executive Council for FELDA Affairs, Cooperative and Entrepreneur Development, alongside members of the AEON Leadership Council – a milestone moment not just for AEON, but for Kuantan’s evolving retail landscape.

Designed around Kuantan shoppers

More than just a new store, AEON Kuantan has been thoughtfully planned with local shoppers in mind. Positioned in the heart of the city within East Coast Mall, the supermarket will serve families, working professionals and students who value convenience, accessibility, and choice in their everyday shopping routines.

The opening also strengthens AEON’s growing East Coast footprint, building on its presence at AEON Mall Kota Bharu in Kelantan, and reinforcing the brand’s commitment to serving communities beyond major urban centres.

Fresh food, quick meals, and everyday essentials

Inside AEON Kuantan, shoppers will find a wide assortment of fresh produce, seafood and household necessities curated to meet daily needs. For those balancing busy schedules, the supermarket also offers ready-to-eat and freshly prepared options from the AEON delicatessen, Coco Cafe, and La Boheme, making it easy to grab a quick meal without compromising on quality.

A clean, intuitive store layout, further enhances the shopping experience, allowing customers to navigate aisles comfortably and find what they need with ease.

Smarter checkouts for smoother shopping

To make grocery runs quicker and more seamless, AEON Kuantan is equipped with self-checkout counters and smart trolleys, giving shoppers greater control over their time at the checkout.

Customers can also choose to shop via myAEON2go, with delivery or pick-up options available, a flexible solution for those who prefer to plan ahead or shop from home.

Growing with communities across Malaysia

The opening of AEON Kuantan reflects AEON’s broader commitment to expanding access to modern retail experiences nationwide. In December 2025, the retailer launched the AEON STYLE Supermarket at Setia EcoHill, Semenyih, with more openings planned this year, including AEON KL Midtown at KL Metropolis and an AEON STYLE Supermarket in Johor Bahru. Refurbishment works at selected outlets are also underway to enhance existing stores.

Giving back to the community

In conjunction with the opening, the Malaysian AEON Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to the community by donating RM30,000 to three charitable organisations – Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Husna (Baitul Husna Charitable Organisation), Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Permata Camar (Permata Camar Children's Home), and Rapha Children’s Home – reinforcing AEON’s belief that growth should go hand in hand with giving back.
