Details matter, and that’s the one thing these brands understood.

We rounded up the most attention-grabbing invites or media kits we’ve seen this year.

1. Bering’s Frozen in Time campaign

Locale: Singapore

When and where: 8 June to 20 July 2013 at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Wisma Atria

The event: Bering launched a campaign to showcase the brand’s timepieces and jewellery in an ice block. The objective of this event was to highlight the brand’s designs as being “timeless.”

The invite: In line with that objective, Bering sent out event invites in the form of a block of ice (consisting of a ring that was embedded within) to selected local media.

2. New Johnson’s baby naturals launch event

Locale: South Korea

When and where: 7 March 2013 at Club MOW, Korea

Event details: Johnson & Johnson (J&J) presented to the media and bloggers the brand’s latest premium natural baby skincare product. Male models served J&J’s baby Naturals product to each guest on wooden trays and the product was also unveiled on stage.

The invite: The media kit consisted of special blind test kits that contained the brand’s new product with two other competitive brands represented by alphabet and their symbolic icon.

3. Launch of the Magnum Pink and Black in Singapore

Locale: Singapore

When and where: 26 July at Clarke Quay Central Fountain Square.

The event: A temporary pop up store was set up in the middle of Clarke Quay to promote the brand’s two new flavours as well as showcase the pop-up store.

The invite: A media kit was sent out to selected local media, with items that matched the event theme: pink and black.

4. Cruzan Rum Tiki Campaign

Locale: Singapore

When and where: 22 August 2013 at Prive, Singapore

The event: An experiential pop-up party that announcing rum-producer Cruzan Rum bringing its Tiki rum concoctions to Singapore.

The invite: The event invite was in the form of a message in a bottle to create a tropical lifestyle feel.

5. HP Elite pad event

Locale: Singapore

When and where: 31 July 2013 at Mon Jervois (condo showroom)

The event: HP launched a B2B event to reach out to C-suite people who are key decision makers in the IT buying process in their respective companies.

The invite: Each guest received a personalised laser-cut wood invitation to drum up hype about the event.

6. Poh Heng’s garden sonnet

Locale: Singapore

When and where: 13 August 2013 at Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay

The event: To commemorate Singapore’s evolution as a “City in a Garden”, Poh Heng invited the media to Garden Sonnet, a private luncheon. The event also saw the unveiling of Poh Heng’s Garden Sonnet (花之新语), a collection made out of high karatage gold and precious gemstones.

The invite: The media kit was in the form of a cupcake to tie in with the flower theme.

7. Diesel Black Gold Fall Winter 2013/2014 (Seen at the New York Fashion Week)

Locale: New York, USA

The event: Diesel introduced its Diesel Black Gold “The Cosmic Tour” collection during the fashion week, tying in with its psychedelic rock theme.

The invite: A laser-cut invitation card that could stand on its own like this:

8. The Kenzo Men’s Show Spring/Summer 2014 show

Locale: Paris, France

The event: Kenzo presenting its men’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection at the men’s fashion week in Paris.

The invite: Here’s how the stylish invite looked:

9. Ann Demeulemeester fashion week Autumn/Winter 2013 menswear show

Locale: Paris, France

The event:
Fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester presented her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection at the mens’ fashion week in Paris.

The invite: A printed handkerchief with the designer’s brand on it was sent out as an invite.
