30 more KFC outlets to open up in Malaysia

QSR Brands has plans to expand its KFC business with an additional 30 new outlets by the end of this year.

On Bernama, Chandrasagran Munusamy, general manager for KFC Operations was quoted saying that the expansion would take place irrespective of the relisting. Munusamy said currently the company has a franchisee of 665 KFC outlets nationwide. The company also opened 30 new outlets last year.

He also quoted the cost of opening a new outlet to be approximately RM1million and RM4million. This cost however depends on what form of an outlet it is: a drive-thru restaurant, a shoplot restaurant or one in a shopping complex.

On The Star, senior general manager for KFC marketing Angelina Villanueva was quoted saying that the "demand for KFC in the country is intact". She also added the brand was doing well sales wise.
