Digital insurance provider ZA Insure has launched a new Standard Plan under the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme, titled ZA VHIS. The company is promoting the new plan as having the "best price in Hong Kong," with premiums starting as low as HK$3.
It has been a productive year for ZA Insure, which launched in May 2020 in partnership with Fubon Life Insurance (Hong Kong). Providing services from quotations to underwriting to claims strictly through an online-only portal, the company has banked on being able to offer speed and ease to an industry that is often perceived as complicated and slow.
The new ZA VHIS plan offers medical coverage with no lifetime limit, and policy renewal is guaranteed up to the age of 100. As it exists on a digital platform, it offers worldwide coverage with 24/7 claims processing, offering extensive coverage for a variety of illnesses, and also offers the highest possible tax rate of 17%, offering tax deductions of up to HK$8,000 a year for premiums paid.
"Thanks to our users’ trust and support, ZA Insure has gone from zero to one with significant growth over the past year. Within only 12 months, our total sum insured has surpassed HK$8 billion, providing more than HK$20 million worth of protection to users on average every day. We leverage technology to build a 24/7, fully-digital insurance platform with 100% transparency in the application processes. Today, around 1 in every 2 policies are issued outside of office hours, while 99% of applicants can get instant protection. ZA Insure is delighted to welcome ZA VHIS to the product family as we celebrate our first anniversary, enabling virtual insurance to offer basic protection for Hong Kong residents further," said Wayne Xu, CEO of ZA Insure.
