Dairy Farm's 'yuu' app records more than 2 million downloads

Dairy Farm Group launched its rewards programme "yuu" which allows customers to enjoy promotions in the dedicated app in July. After its launch, the group has rolled out a number of campaigns across different touchpoints including OOH ads. 

The "yuu" app incorporates over 10 brands from Dairy Farm and Jardine Restaurant Group, including Wellcome, Mannings, 7-Eleven, IKEA, KFC and Pizza Hut, to name a few. Aimed at uniting all brands under one rewards programme, the programme has a key visual of the "Dairy Farm Universe” which was designed to showcase this idea. 

In partnership with media agency PHD, the branding of "yuu" has a dominating presence across both online and offline media outlets, as evidenced in tunnels across the city, buildings, transportation, social media channels, in-store activation, and achieving strong coverage. Social listening was critical to planning and the delivery of media services. This insight garnered through social listening allowed the implementation of real-time responses to customer feedback, which can be applied not just to the approach to messaging but to the product and application of the app itself.

"We are thrilled to witness the overwhelming adoption of 'yuu' app in Hong Kong. 'yuu' is a universe of endless possibilities, and it has been rewarding to assist Dairy Farm on the navigation of this innovative digital venture. 'yuu' at 2 million is just the beginning," said Samuel Ho, business director of PHD.

The app has amassed overwhelming responses from the public. According to the agency, after launching for only five weeks, its has reached a milestone of over two million downloads.
