Y&R Malaysia makes dual promotion

Malaysia – Y&R Malaysia has made two senior promotions with Lisa Hezila (pictured left) now managing director of the agency while Gigi Lee (right) takes on her new role as executive creative director.

Hezila was promoted from her most recent role as group general manager, a position she held since August 2010, and Lee leaves behind her role as creative director, having led the creative department for the past year.

Hezila started her career in marketing with Edaran Otomobil Nasional before joining Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship Grand Prix as its head of marketing communications and sponsorship.

She joined Paragon Y&R in October 2004 to head its operations and within a few years rebuilt the agency. She was subsequently promoted to group general manager for Y&R Malaysia, working with the team on brands such as Colgate, Campbell’s, Cerebos, Malaysia Milk and several others.

Lee, on the other hand, started her career at Y&R where she spent 10 years, before taking on designer roles at Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia, Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide and O&M Malaysia.

She then made her way back to Y&R Malaysia in 2010, and has since won the agency several awards and recognition within the advertising industry.

Throughout her experience, Lee has applied her craft to local and regional accounts, winning and handling big brands like Tiger Beer, Guinness, Carlsberg, Kraft, Toyota, Lexus, Colgate, Campbell’s, KFC, local telecommunications providers, television networks and more.

Commenting on their promotions, Sanjay Bhasin, Y&R chief executive officer of Southeast Asia, said that Y&R Malaysia’s accomplishments this year are a testament to both Hezila’s and Lee’s leadership of their teams.

“Their achievements have been a perfect balance of fame and fortune, stellar awards success and a slew of new business wins,” he adds.

Some of its new business wins include Media Prima TV Networks, Ferrari, Maserati, CIMB Mapletree, EXIM Bank and UEMLand.
