As the Hong Kong government will distribute electronic coupons to eligible citizens soon, more merchants are adopting electronic payment systems to welcome customers. Against this background is the partnership between Boutir and Yedpay which offers merchants greater flexibility.

Since enabling offline payment with UnionPay cards in January, Yedpay is now offering an all-in-one payment solution consisting of UnionPay, Alipay, Alipay HK, WeChat Pay and WeChat Pay (overseas) to 110,000 merchants on Boutir and expects to see further adoption.

Yedpay harnesses innovation to improve consumers’ online payment experience and employs cloud-based payment technology to process credit card and mobile payments. This solution makes the payment process faster, more frictionless and more secure, allowing for a unified settlement period of two business days. Merchants can also view transaction data in real time, opening new opportunities and offering more sophisticated methods of operating their businesses.

"This is a milestone for integrated online payments. We hope that through our partnership with Boutir, our all-in-one payment service can reach numerous e-commerce stores and enable more merchants to enhance their business competitiveness. We are launching e-consumer vouchers as part of the government's digital voucher scheme and expect the number of onboarding merchants to grow exponentially," said a representative of Yedpay.

Electronic payment has become a permanent fixture and the pandemic has accelerated its adoption. After the announcement from the government about the distribution of vouchers through electronic payment operators, merchants' enquiries about Yedpay's electronic payment collection have increased rapidly, and the number of applicants who are planning to expand their online presence with the existing brick-and-mortar stores also increased by three times.

Boutir also commented, "We understand that every second counts for micro, small and medium enterprises, so choices and security have always motivated our service offers. Going forward, we will continue to onboard other partners and introduce more value-added services to enhance the entire shopping experience, offering greater convenience to merchants and consumers alike.”
