Yahoo! Malaysia has launched Style Factor Malaysia, a premium fashion, beauty and personal care sector of its website for the new age Malaysian women.
Style Factor will bring together the celebrity news, trending fashion, photo galleries and how-to videos designed especially for Malaysian users.
Originating from its long-time global partnership with Procter & Gamble, the programme’s success on Yahoo! US led to its extension into Asian countries such as Indonesia, India and the Philippines in the past two years.
Karen Vera, regional executive producer for media development and custom brand experiences at Yahoo! Southeast Asia shares her excitement in bringing Style Factor to Malaysia.
“It offers a rich, immersive branded content experience which seeks to inform, engage and entertain our users,” Vera said, adding, “We are happy to strengthen our global relationship with P&G to offer the brand the right kind of audience and editorial strength required to launch the branded entertainment experience to connect with relevant consumers.”
Style Factor will be hosted by Daniella Sya, offering locally produced content and supported by an editorial team for online news. The programme will run in both Malay and English.
Yahoo! Malaysia saw a hike in video stream, rising from 160,000 streams in August 2012 to now 1.96 million in 2013. The online portal hopes to drive greater traffic to Style Factor by its draw of local content.
