WSJ Asia names real-time news editor

The Wall Street Journal Asia has appointed David Crawshaw as editor of real-time news,Based in Hong Kong, Crawshaw will oversee a team of editors around the region who are responsible for editing The Journal’s news and associated graphics, video and multimedia elements across all Dow Jones platforms, including DJN, DJX and WSJ.com.He will also lead the team in charge of the daily management of Asia.wsj.com and India.wsj.com and be responsible for social media and mobile drives in Asia.“As we move to an ever-more digital news organization, the importance of the real-time desk in Asia as the frontline of our unsurpassed journalism can’t be overstated and we are delighted to have an editor of David’s verve and expertise to take on this new assignment,” said Paul Beckett, Asia editor for The Wall Street Journal.Crawshaw joined Dow Jones in 2009 as online editor where he managed WSJ.com’s European edition from its London bureau for the past two years. He also worked as a former political reporter for Australian Associated Press.
