WPP Media has appointed Marcelle Hoyek as client managing director for EssenceMediacom Sydney, handing her responsibility for one of the agency’s largest client portfolios.
Hoyek will oversee key accounts from Lion to HBO Max, Uber, Commonwealth Bank, KFC and UPI. She joins from iProspect, where she spent the past three years as national managing director, following an earlier stint as Sydney managing director.
Reporting to EssenceMediacom CEO Pippa Berlocher, Hoyek steps in to replace Stevie Douglas-Neal who joined Omnicom earlier this year to head up UM as CEO.
Berlocher said she brings a strong mix of commercial leadership and people management experience to the role.
“Marcelle is an outstanding leader with a deep understanding of the evolving role of media in driving growth,” Berlocher said. “She brings the right mix of strategic rigour, empathy and ambition to lead our Sydney business into its next chapter.”
Hoyek said EssenceMediacom’s momentum and client focus attracted her to the role.
“EssenceMediacom has built something incredibly special. It’s a business with momentum, ambition and a genuine commitment to people and clients,” she said.
“I’m excited to join the team and bring my passion, creativity and energy to help elevate what is already a brilliant business.”
She officially joins WPP Media on 1 July.
