Ian Toombs has joined Wieden+Kennedy’s Shanghai office as executive creative director, working alongside managing director Bryan Tilson.
The appointment comes as Yang Yeo, W+K Shanghai’s previous executive creative director, departs the agency for personal reasons.
Toombs began his career in New York City working for design shops including Pentagram, Interbrand and Wolff Olins. He joined Anomaly as art director in 2006, later becoming executive creative director and head of design of the New York office.
Toombs’s body of work includes effective, popular multi-platform communications campaigns for brands including Converse, Diesel, Budweiser, Captain Morgan, Google, Renaissance Hotels, Jawbone, P&G, The New Museum and The One Show.
