Wilson Group (Hong Kong) has launched an app with a rewards programme and real-time information to cater to the driver's needs.

The app "WIL" developed by Wilson Group was launched in September and champions change under “smart mobility” in the Hong Kong Smart City Blueprint 2.0 announced by the Hong Kong government, offering information on the road from designated car parks, speed cams, EV charging stations and fuel stations on top of all latest car-related services in town such as car wash, auto repair, and towing services for members.

To attract more drivers to join the platform, WIL allows members to access a myriad of rewards and privileges by earning points. For example, all WIL members parking at designated car parks or purchasing at designated merchants and corporate partners of up to 600 in the near future can earn points for discount offers on parking, refueling and maintenance services.

Also, eligible drivers can register as a WIL member for free to enjoy a variety of welcome offers, such as 10,000 WIL points equivalent to three hours of free parking, monthly free parking coupons, an additional 20,000 WIL points after paying an annual fee. Other ways to earn points include engaging with the app, sharing news, and inviting a friend to become a member. WIL members can also earn extra points during their birthday month.

“I believe that what we’ve achieved will transform motorists’ driving experience and make them smarter drivers, which is just as important as building the infrastructure of a smart city like Hong Kong. We look forward to bringing them an even better WIL in the future,” said Henry Louie, managing director, Wilson Group.

When it comes to other features, the map in the app enables navigation which provides information of available parking spots with the occupancy rate of a car park where users can earn points and use coupons for free parking. Moreover, members can easily keep track of their driving expenses including refueling and parking fees, while they can also obtain car-related news and articles with driving tips from influencers and editors.

Apart from launching the app, Wilson Group has also launched a citywide campaign to generate awareness. For example, the group has rolled out ads on the exterior buses of three local bus companies, namely KMB, New World First Bus and Citybus.

“There are many more features and functions in the pipeline. These features and functions will allow motorists to better understand their driving habits and reduce their carbon footprint. Imagine being able to dine at your favourite local restaurant and get complimentary parking from it just like in malls!” said Henrietta Yeo, assistant general manager, Wilson Group.

When it comes to online touchpoints, Wilson Group has launched a video featuring singer Ying Chi-yuet on Facebook, showcasing the app's functions and features. Lastly, it collaborated with tech information website unwire.hk and private car information portal UpCar, launching posts and videos on two platforms' Facebook to introduce the functions of the app.

'We are incredibly excited to have partnered with Wilson Group for the launch of this pioneering app. Having a one-stop platform where motorists can engage is crucial, and we will continue improving customer experience and work towards making Hong Kong a world-class smart city,' Daniel Wu, general manager of Meology.
